Privacy policy
LAST UPDATED ยทLike a flight recorder, we only log what is needed to keep the service running. This page explains what we store, why, and what you can do about it.
What we store
- Account details - your username and email address, and the date you registered.
- Password - on the website it is stored as a secure one-way hash. The game server keeps its own copy in the form the classic game client requires, which is not hashed - so please use a password for SkyForge that you don't use anywhere else.
- Login history - the time, IP address and browser of your website logins, so you can spot unexpected access on your account page (where the IP is shown partly hidden).
- Game data - your characters, items, progress, rankings and the logs the game server keeps (for example logins, trades and combat events) to run the game, handle support requests and detect cheating.
- Password reset codes - only a secure hash of the code, valid for one hour.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account on the website and in the game.
- To keep your account secure and to recover it if you forget your password.
- To show public rankings (character name, brigade, nation, gear, level, fame, PvP kills).
- To enforce the server rules and prevent cheating and abuse.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in (not readable by scripts on the page) and to remember notices you have closed and your cookie choice. There are no advertising cookies. Our visitor statistics tool only sets its own cookies if you allow it, see below.
Visitor statistics
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, where people click and scroll, and anonymised recordings of these interactions. What you type into forms, such as passwords, is masked and not recorded. Clarity may use cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognise returning visitors.
Until you choose in the cookie banner, Clarity runs without cookies. If you allow it, it may use its cookies; if you decline, it is switched off. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. The data is processed by Microsoft; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Third parties
The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them. The same applies to Microsoft Clarity (visitor statistics) and Cloudflare Turnstile (the captcha on the registration page). Uploaded images are served from our own media server. Community channels such as Discord have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Account and game data are kept while your account exists. Login history and game logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and support. When an account is deleted, its personal data is removed, except where we must keep it to prevent abuse.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Contact the staff on our Discord server - for your security we'll verify that the account is yours before making changes.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
